History

The Houston Hispanic Round Table was founded in March 1984 by a group of local Hispanic leaders who met to address social issues impacting the Hispanic community and the community at-large. In 1986, members incorporated the group to form the Houston Hispanic Forum (HHF), a non-profit organization.

Since then, HHF has grown into an organization that is respected throughout the country and lauded by the President, Secretary of Education, Governor of the State of Texas and local business and educational groups for its commitment to serving the Hispanic community and the community at large.

Career Education Day (CED), HHF’s banner event, has grown from 1,500 students to this year’s 15,000, representing a great achievement for HHF’s first 25 years of operations. Over the years, CED has served more than 200,000 students, including over 1,000 volunteers each year; and had the participation of 92 school districts in 19 counties of Texas, and school districts from other various States.
